No fussy ingredients, no long hours of chilling , just  simple, undemanding, easy to make recipe that yields delicious, gooey , melt In your mouth cookies every time!!

Notes before you begin

  • Always make sure the butter is soft but not melted
  • Do not omit or replace the brown sugar, it important for the chewy texture
  • Always chill the cookies for 10 mins so they don ot spread during baking
  • Double Chocolate Chip cookies will be soft when hot, let the cool  to get crunch

Best Double Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe

Makes 12 large cookies or 24 small ones

Butter  cubed at room temp-125 gms

Brown Sugar-100gms

Castor Sugar-100gms

Vanilla Extract-1 tsp

1 large egg

Baking powder   11/2 tsp

salt    :   1/2 tsp

Flour: 230gms

Cocoa: 50 gms

Chocolate Chips/chunks    :    150 gms

Method:

  1. In a medium bowl, combine the brown sugar, granulated sugar, and salt.
  2. .  Add the sugars/salt to the butter and beat on medium speed to combine, then increase speed to high, beating until the mixture becomes light and fluffy.
  3. Turn the mixer down to low and add the vanilla extract and the egg, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  4. Gradually add  the flour and cocoa, Folding together  just until combined, then beat in the chocolate chips
  5. gently bring the dough together by hand; the mixture should come together easily.  If not add milk a table spoon at a time as needed
  6. Form the dough into cookies about  (45 grams) each. Place the cookies on a parchment lined baking sheet and refrigerate for 10-30 before baking.
  7.  Bake in Preheated oven at 170 degree C for 12 mins or until done
  8. Cool  on wire rack before serving
