Waldorf Astoria Hotel Dubai
Waldorf Astoria -the name stands for opulence and Luxury Unparalleled.   I spent the long weekend of this January in pure GRANDEUR at the Waldorf Astoria, Ras  Al Khaimah.  Beautiful and elegant this luxury getaway in Dubai can make even a seasoned tourist’s jaws drop in awe.

A hidden haven in the peaceful Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah, Waldorf Astoria Ras Al Khaimah is an ideal destination for an unforgettable getaway. The resort boasts of 346 palatial rooms and suites with stunning views, 2 temperature controlled pools, a 350 meter long private beach with a pristine view of the Arabian shoreline and azure blue waters.

Add to this 10 stylish restaurants and lounges, an award winning spa and much more, a mere 45 minute drive from Dubai International Airport, this Charming beachfront resort promises an experience of a lifetime!
And so it was for me and the 600 odd other guests who had come to attend the fairy-tale wedding of Ankita & Aditya  surrounded by  the crimson Al Hajar Mountians, vast dessert and  the turquoise waters of the  Arabian sea.

The Fabulous Decor at the Entrance

First Impressions of this Luxury Getaway in Dubai

From the moment I stepped into the lobby I was blown away by the sheer beauty and magnificence of this Luxury Hotel.  A perfect blend of the ancient and the modern the extensive interiors are inspired by Arabian Palaces. The lobby‘s design and colours are inspired from the centuries-old practice of pearl diving in the islands’ sparkling waters.

Right in the center is the huge Champagne gold Clock which cost the hotel a whopping 1.5 Million AED. An interesting fact is each Waldorf Astoria Hotel in the world has one such Iconic Clock        . Based on the Ancient Astrolabe, the clock is adorned with turquoise glass accents and engraved at the bottom is a Bedouin poem phrase that reads “From your homeland travel abroad to find glory”
Next to the Lobby is the iconic Peacock Alley another signature must have across all Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts.   With a giant Marble fountain and the soothing sound of water it makes and ideal place to grab a cup of coffee or just sit and observe the work go by in tranquility.

The Stunning Pool

The Room at this Luxury Getaway in Dubai

My room was called “The Family Deluxe with Sea View and Balcony”, more like an opulent Apartment than a hotel room it had a 2 large queen sized beds,  a large sitting area, a walk-in wardrobe, vanity and large bathroom with a Jacuzzi and a Shower stall.  The balcony afforded a brilliant view of the sapphire blue waters of the Arabian sea and the beautifully landscaped poolside.

The Wedding Celebrations

The next two days was a whirlwind of festivities and celebrations beginning with  a spectacular Mehendi ceremony by poolside lawns in beautiful pastels and ending with Majestic Performance by none other than the Great singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan.
